Earlier this morning, Hon. Wole led his House Committee on Foreign Affairs colleagues to the Institute of International Relations.
The committee felt bad at the ugly position of infrastructure at the Centre. The building and the entire facility there ,needs urgent intervention as these do not portray our country in good light to the outside world and the visiting nationals.

The discussions also centred around Nigeria’s international relations policy and how to position the country within the global community.
In the interim,several legislation and amendments were discussed during the oversight process. Notably, the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs Act (Amendment) Bill of 2017 was debated.
Nigeria’s foreign policy seeks to promote and preserve our national interests,as well as the interests of Nigerian nationals abroad, to encourage African integration and unity, and to develop international cooperation for peace and a fair global economic system.
During the discussion, Nigeria’s membership and integration policies in regional and sub-regional organisations such as ECOWAS and the African Union were reviewed.
The committee strives to create an opportunity for Nigeria to attract foreign direct investment and enhance economic ties with partners such as the European Union.
The team attempts to assist President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government at exploring the avenues via which Nigeria may offer a cohesive agenda that aligns its domestic and foreign policy goals in order to strengthen Nigeria’s position in the international community.
The committee’s deliberations are conducted with the goal of reporting back to the House and providing fertile ground for future discussion.
